I was emptying my wallet to transfer the items over to a new one, and as I searched the pockets I found bits and pieces of random memories stuck in between. Ticket stubs from 2005, a plastic sticker backing from PSLE, sweet wrappers from the PSLs last year...
There are the notable ones with unforgettable memories attached to them. Quite a number, that I'm surprised my wallet was ever so light.
Hmm.
Must be the lack of money.
Oh woe. ------------------------------ Plastic sticker backing From PSLE 2005. I still remember my PSLE number after all these years. Somehow all the numbers related to me seem to be quite rhythmical. 02767F.
Receipt from Giant IMM Had a very amusing error on it. My mom purchased some minor items including this denim jacket for me which cost $7.90. The real total didn't exceed $20, but an error on the cashier's part just multiplied the cost of the jacket by 220...and the total came to a pretty $1700+. I was gawking, the person behind was gawking, the cashier was gawking.
Four movie ticket stubs Corpse Bride (11 Oct 2005, E-06, Hall 3) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (17 Nov 2005, N-08, Hall 4) Memoirs of a Geisha (30 Jan 2006, E-09, Hall 3) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Date unreadable, P-20, Hall 3)
Granado Espada Angel Wings code Went to the GE Zouk Raid Party and attempted to complete all offline quests, to no avail. We weren't able to complete the SMS station (go figure) and so we figured, all right we'll just go ahead and redeem our prizes according to what quests we finished. Turns out we could only redeem the prizes after completing ALL quests, but the person-in-charge had stamped our cards already. So, based on an error, we got our angel wings. xD Plus postcards and a door hanger. If we completed all quests, we would've only received the angel wings. Thank Jazlyn's luck!
General Election polling cards Got them off my parents. I thought I'd keep them as a souvenir. Sembawang area's the largest constituency there is in terms of people, I believe, and the results were the last to be announced.
Clementi Park bus ticket Took the shuttle back to the MRT station after Shiying and Mandi's "wedding". Had loads of fun there and Mar got high on carbonated drinks. Bad Mar! Wore a skirt and high heels :B Not for long though, I quickly reverted back to pants and sneakers.
132 bus ticket I realised I ran out of money in my EZLink card and had absolutely no coins to pay for the trip. I asked a fellow RGS girl if she had change for $2, she said she hadn't but she lent me some money to pay for the trip. I repaid her back, of course, writing her name and class down at the back of the ticket. Thanks so much!
Fortune cookie result I went to the SNGS fair with Denise and met up with Jane afterwards. Denise had some fortune cookies in her bag and gave one to each of us, and that was my result. I don't think I followed it though. But the three of us had loads of fun there, spending about $24 each on that ride. xD Oh gosh.
Green sticker on wallet That came from Learn@SDC where I lost my goddamn phone! Eeeeh! And the asshole who picked it up or nicked it didn't even want to return it! DAMN YOU. Oh well, got over it quickly. ------------------- Stuffed it all in a box now, along with my Neoprints.
Argh. I became interested in dystopian literature again after remembering the film Equilibrium, based on some aspects of such literature. I so totally want to read these books right now.
Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell Brave New World by Aldous Huxley The Running Man by Stephen King Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
I've already read Nineteen Eighty-Four, but it can't hurt to reread it again. Fahrenheit 451 is quite easy to find in libraries, but the rest are pretty much unavailable. I know Kinokuniya has Brave New World and Battle Royale, so if I had the money I'd totally go and buy them as an EOY present. As a temporary measure until I can go to Jurong to borrow Nineteen Eighty-Four again and maybe Brave New World, I've recently borrowed The Time Machine by H. G. Wells, apparently listed under dystopian literature on Wikipedia.
Gotta wait til the major exams are sort of over until reading it though.
