I am highly amused by the fact that my tweet yesterday was retweeted by BritishRT.
"FUCK. Bloody hell, 190. Why am I passing by OUTRAM PARK when I want to get to the National Library?!"
Because I am very obviously not British, unless you'd like to count the fact that Singapore was once a British colony. I looked through the tweets on BritishRT, though - they're looking for tweets with Brit slang in them, like telly, arse, bloody, etc.
About the tweet, I was heading to the National Library immediately after school to see if I could get any useful statistics on housing for my Geog PT. I thought 190 would get me there OK, since I vaguely remembered taking it to get somewhere in the CBD area. 15 minutes on the bus and I was one of only two people left on the bus (excluding the driver). I thought I'd passed by Victoria Road quite some time ago, so I reckoned I'd look at the passing surroundings to get an idea of my location, saw an MRT station and went, "Alright, let's see it, where am I?" and the signboard said "OUTRAM PARK".
The 190 turned into New Bridge Road Bus Terminal shortly afterwards.
At least I now know where 190 ends up. Next to some hospital (I saw the sign Hospital Drive) and right across the Police Cantonment Complex. I boarded bus no. 2 to Bugis Station and finally saw where I went wrong...at the junction before Outram Park MRT station, turn left and you'll see the National Library. 190 turned right.
...I was in charge of a naval exercise with the Fantastic Four.
We were doing simulations in a large pool filled with seawater, the effect made more realistic by having rough waves crashing against the walls of the pool, churning up foam.
We had small-scale replicas of the naval boats - big enough to ride on, though - in four different sizes, although I only remember two: Northern and Cloud. Northern-size boats were big, almost at their maximum size, and they were used in rough seas like that of Scandinavian waters (i.e. North Sea). Cloud-size boats, meanwhile, were the lightest and the smallest.
I was controlling a freighter and a tugboat, both Northern-size. A Cloud-size tugboat was drifting nearby unattended, and The Thing was struggling to prevent another Cloud-size tugboat from capsizing in the fierce waves.
Suddenly the waves started to get worse. Even the Northern-size freighter was in danger of sinking. The unattended Cloud-size tugboat nearby had already gone down. I immediately got the boats out of the pool, but The Thing was still in the water, which had gone a rather nasty greenish-sandy colour. The water level was dropping rapidly, and the Invisible Woman was beside me, shouting at The Thing to get out of the water before the increasing acidity dissolved the layer of rock off his legs. He couldn't move, however, because something was keeping him there, like some suction force at the bottom of the pool.
The water level dropped lower and lower, as if someone had pulled the plug at the bottom of the pool, and as it receded the water turned darker and darker until it completely went down the drain. The Thing crawled out of the pool and we were shocked to see that the entire rock-like layer surrounding his body had been eroded, revealing his normal human body.

...I was walking through an exhibition hall, accompanied by a girl (the general feeling I got from her was that she was a familiar friend).
The lights were dimmed to enhance the effect of the spotlights hanging directly over the exhibits. It looked like a jewellery exhibition, and the pieces were displayed on tables in the centre of the room. Most of the visitors there were women, talking politely to each other and checking out the jewellery on display.
At the side of the hall there were three silver capsules - apparently they were lifts or teleporters of some sort. There was a whoosh, and a capsule appeared bearing a tall, blond Caucasian man. He was dressed in a white striped dress shirt and black pants. He walked past us, and my companion told me that the man was her father's gay partner. She also told me that he had specially made a jewellery piece for her father, and it was on display right here in the hall.
We walked over to the exhibits, and she led me to a table with a pair of small rings with grey stones on them. A label on the display showed the logo of the company the Caucasian man worked for or owned, and the name of the person the jewellery piece was dedicated to. The rings looked like they were meant to be worn, but they were far too small to be put on anyone's finger, even a child's. Moving further on to the next exhibits I realised the jewellery pieces were all the same size and shape, and decided that they were pendants instead of rings.
COSFEST VIII: A VERY HAPPY EVENT WAS A VERY HAPPY EVENT INDEED. My cosplay virginity was willingly and happily given. x3
I was very annoyed with myself for the first day - I wore my specs around since I couldn't see without them and I thought, "Well, I'd take them off if anyone wants to take pictures" AND I DIDN'T. Only ten minutes after the photo was taken I'd be like "FUCK MY SPECS WERE STILL ON!". And my hair wasn't exactly as Greece-like as I would have wanted it. T____T
I felt rather left out, too, because I was the only Mediterranean there (Turkey was cosplaying Canada that day) and whenever people wanted to take pics it's usually by region and pairings, so I just took myself out of the pics and stood at the side. Jazlyn was with Hungary so there were a number of lovely couple pics *w*
Second day however, was fantastic. Tried to make my hair somewhat more Greece-like, abandoned the brown beret entirely and wore Jazlyn's cat-ear clips the whole day. IT HAD BELLS AND JINGLED LOL. And today Turkey was there so I finally had a partner to interact with for group pictures. Even if it was mostly Turkey attempting to grope Greece or something >__>;;
Today I swore I'd not wear my specs at all. To avoid temptation I kept them in my bag the whole day and just squinted my way around.
EDIT 21/07/09: I haven't gone back to writing this since EVER and I think I'm too lazy to continue so...heh. I might if I bother to!

Me: What's mama looking for? Mum: Just now I saw a burung, injured. Me: You saw a WHAT? *imagines a human-like being with massive pure white wings in our corridor*
I got a rude shock in the morning when she said that. I honestly thought she said she saw a bird angel and I just stood there for ten seconds gawking at her wide-eyed and wondering why she said it so calmly and matter-of-factly. I mean, come on, how often would you see an ANGEL. And then I realised she said "injured" and I went CHEYYY!!
Cosfest tomorrow! I haven't actually worn my outfit yet so I don't know what it looks like on me. DDD: And there's also the problem of wondering where to change tomorrow morning, since I'm supposed to meet up with the cosplay group outside D'Marquee at 11am - 12nn and I'm supposed to be changed by then, too. >_> So not gonna go there in cosplay outfit, since I'm taking buses there.
I think I better try on the whole outfit later at night when my mum's not looking (but she's staying up later and later thanks to her Korean dramas) and see if it's OK. T__T She still doesn't know the outfit cost $95. She knows I'm cosplaying, and I think she knows my eldest sister is, too, but she has no idea of its cost. I think Greece will be my only cosplay until the end of the year when I can get a part-time job.
Bus 132 broke down today! It didn't even leave the bus-stop LOL. SBS 9208 K. The driver gave us all a complimentary ride ticket. I use a bus-pass! When will I ever use that? Guess I can keep it as a memento, but I bet the ink'll fade off quite soon...
One hour and thirteen minutes to go before I can eat. ;_;
I forgot today was Fried Food Day! Now I'll have to wait for next week. Stall 7's crispy friend fried chicken (what would crispy friend taste like- NO IT'S CANNIBALISM) and potato fritters... *crais* Oh well, at least I'm getting a day done. One down, six more to go! All before August 20th.
Philo today felt surprisingly unPhilo. Felt more like RS. Or some Sec 1 science class, because we're starting on the whole knowledge thing and we're concentrating on scientific knowledge. Basically the task we had to do was come up with a simple science experiment to prove or disprove a statement. So all the things like Aim, Hypothesis, Materials Needed and Methodology came out. It was a fun change from sitting there listening to Mr Ng talk and us giving back halfhearted answers. (Or in my case, I just sit there and stare at him and say "Uhhhh...what?")
"Can I erase your identities?" - Mr Ng, erasing the Math identities off the board
OH NO. My nose is running! I cannot catch. Anyway, I hope it's not accompanied by a fever, because 1) I MIGHT HAVE GOT H1N1, 2) I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GO FOR COSFEST, 3) AIYAH WHY SICK NOW NEVER SICK BEFORE LEH.
I am snorting out a considerable amount of mucus. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I FAST. I think it's the lack of water to thin it out. Hmmhmm.
For some weird reason, I am now reminded of some teacher's words DON'T THROW YOUR USED TISSUES IN CLASS, PLEASE DISPOSE OF THEM IN THE BIN OUTSIDE and then I'm looking at the bin in my house and thinking "Right, what do I do?".
So, it's 1am. The Michael Jackson Farewell Tribute thing will be shown in about half-an-hour's time, but I'm not staying up for that. I've got a Malay paper to do, and nevermind with the time limit. >_>; Actually I think I'm supposed to be doing Lit with Sandhya but she hasn't MSNed me so I don't know. =/ Ms Leow won't even be there on the day of our lesson, so if we screw up...well, she won't know. I think.
I just realised that tomorrow 412 has the slackest day ever. MT, Math, Bio, and Philo! We get to leave directly after Philo because our free block is before lunch, huzzah. I checked all the Sec 4's even and odd week timetables and I am very proud to say - aiyah, I'm suanning you lah - that 12.10pm is the earliest time a Sec 4 class can leave school...AND THAT'S US! NO OTHER SEC 4 CLASS LEAVES EARLIER, OR EVEN AT THE SAME TIME. 412 ROCKS HAHA. No lah, it's Mr Chang who did all the timetabling, so he rocks.
It's really interesting to blogsearch RGS students. The good ones blog funny anecdotes about school and teachers (oh how scandalous! blackmail material). The only thing I fear about reading all of those blogs is STATCOUNTER. Which I have, too...I mean, they don't show your name, address, phone number, NRIC, colour of your underpants to the blog owner, but it's kinda unnerving to know what people Googled for when they hit your blog. So far, no pr0n. Heheh. Now that the keyword's up here maybe there will be.
I wonder what my senior will think when she checks statcounter to find this random IP address reading her blog archives. and where the search started. I hope I covered my tracks lololol
Oh, speaking of pr0n, I forgot to mention: FIN SEX. Of all people, it was GRACE who said that to me. Uh, something about Gill/Nemo? I will check that out later when I'm not supposed to keep my mind pure for make-up fasting tomorrow. =/
I wore a pair of stilettos for several hours yesterday while accompanying my mum to her friend's son's wedding. And wore a baju kurung set that was entirely pink. Matched with a pink bag, on which the face of a bunny was printed.
OHMAIGAWD MUNI WORE HIGH HEELS AND PINK! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!11eleventy1one SHE IS TURNING GIRLY PIGS WILL FLY SOON oh wait they already flu I'm sorry.
Never trust me with a pair of new stilettos; in the span of those several hours I managed to mutilate the pointy bits of both heels, making them rather more uncomfortable to wear than ever.
YESSS. Someone uploaded Flame and Citron on Youtube, complete with English subtitles! If only I had the time to watch the whole thing in one go with little interruption. D: I've watched it about halfway, it's pretty interesting although I doubt you can walk right up to someone in the street and simply shoot his head off without anyone noticing.
Random: During some parts in the movie, they're actually speaking German instead of Danish. x_x I never noticed the switch between the two, they sound rather similar to someone unfamiliar with the languages. Then again they are under the same group of Germanic languages (that includes English!) so I guess it shouldn't be surprising, really.
Got my Greece uniform from Jazlyn today! She went to collect hers yesterday and the tailor said mine was done already. It looks pretty cool, accurate and all, but on hindsight I should've said I wanted a bigger, baggier jacket. =/ It doesn't drape over the shoulders good. Maybe I've got to soften the cloth up by washing it once before Cosfest. (And I'm doubting paying $95 for it - if I had done more prep beforehand I think I could've sourced out cheaper alternatives at Army Market or something, but it's all done with so I can't regret it now. D:)
I don't know where to get boots though. I could probably use my NCC boots but it'll most likely look weird. Jaz offered to lend me her welly boots. No idea what they look like though. And I think I need astigmatism contact lenses because Greece doesn't wear specs. Lucky Jaz! She's cosplaying Austria and he wears specs.
The reopening of school has wrecked havoc with my immune system. I've been sneezing often all day since school reopened, but I have no fever, no sore throat, no blocked nose, no other symptom of H1N1 so I have no idea what it is. Stress, probably. Lack of sleep. Jumping from 8 solid hours of sleep during the holidays straight to a mere 3 hours would do that to you, eh.
